A minimalist 2D arcade-puzzle-shmup (I guess?) in which you eat shapes in a rock-paper-scissors fashion to stay alive.

Note: prefer the desktop versions to enjoy better sound effects.

CONTROLS:

  • Use your mouse to move the green shape.
  • Hold click and release to dash in the opposite direction.

RULES:

  • Eat other shapes while respecting the food chain as shown in the top-right diagram (circles eat squares, squares eat triangles, triangles eat circles)
  • You eat white shapes by running into them; you become what you eat.
  • You have 10 seconds to eat before your lifebar drops to 0.
  • Be careful: red shapes will try to eat you!

SCORING:

If you eat a shape, your lifebar fills up and you gain +1 point
Bonuses:

  • If you eat fast enough without being hit for long enough, you enter the combo state and the points you score are tripled
  • If you eat while dashing, the points you score are doubled
  • These two possible bonuses are cumulative.

CREDITS:

OMG Why did I clicked, this is too addictive.
Seriously great job, perfect game imo for a jam.

The game’s mechanics are really well done, and the CRT-style visuals are top-notch it honestly feels like you’re being pulled into the past.

I always wondered how to make the old tv effect. i love the visuals and the rock paper scissors type gameplay

If you’re using Unity, it’s as simple as a post processing volume with lens distortion, film grain, a little bit of bloom and chromatic aberration :) I could even add a CRT shader on top of it but I didn’t feel the need. Thank you for the kind words!

nice and fun game

Nice game. I like the idea and the visuals, like an old CRT monitor. I also like this effect where the objects merge together.

Very fun game! Feedback is great, very satisfaying, and the sound design/music is matching very well!

Good job o/

A great idea! It perfectly fits with the theme, and the music is matching so well! Nice job Heelio and Itooh. My Best score: 364
